7 Ways to Upgrade Your Lifestyle {at home}

Estee Lauder once said, "beauty is an attitude." So is living an elevated lifestyle!

Creating, maintaining or expanding a luxurious lifestyle is much more than caviar, yachts and private jets. It's really about quality, confidence and feelings of fulfillment, which vary from person to person.

Of course designer labels and vacations on exotic islands fall within my personal scope of an elevated lifestyle, but it's important to remember the things we can do every day to pamper ourselves and level up. It's not about being superficial or materialistic; all of that is relative and irrelevant anyway. Just remember you deserve a life filled with happiness and everything (luxury included) you desire!

Here are 7 Ways to Upgrade Your Lifestyle {at Home} … on or off a budget:

1. Create a Home Bar:

Nothing feels more luxurious than a home bar. If you already have a bar in your home, incorporate or upgrade glass decanters for your liquors and stock up on the five essentials: vodka, gin, tequila, whiskey and brandy. If you don't have a bar in your home, select a low-traffic corner of your livingroom or dining area to place a bar cart, then adorn it with all of the bells and whistles.

2. Upgrade Your Storage Containers to Glass:

Not only are plastic containers for food and storage no longer considered safe and healthy in most situations, but glass is aesthetically more pleasing and you won't have to worry about them staining or melting in the microwave. You may have to replace all of your containers little by little, but upgrade everything from lunch and meal-prep containers to cereal and juice decanters.

3. Purchase and Display Fresh Flowers:

There's nothing wrong with faux flowers, as many are super realistic and low maintenance, but walking into a home with fresh flowers makes you feel like you walked into a mansion. Simply pick up a few bunches every time you stop at the grocery store or buy a large bunch from your favorite florist and stretch them out from room to room. It doesn't have to be expensive, yet the impact will be huge.

4. Buy and Use Your Nice Dinnerware & Glassware:

Stop saving the 'good stuff' for a special occasion. If you already have good china and glasses, enjoy them as much as possible. Lemonade in a wine glass … why not?! And if you don't have any good pieces, Target, Crate & Barrel and HomeGoods have excellent choices for cheap.

5. Upgrade Your Bedding:

New sheets, pillows and duvets can truly enhance your lifestyle in just one tuck. Invest in quality, high thread count sheets and hypoallergenic pillows today. You'll feel better and you'll sleep better.

6. Enhance Your Bath & Shower Routine:

Consider ways you can mimic that luxury-hotel shower experience by upgrading your shower head, hanging eucalyptus, taking more relaxing bubble baths {don't forget the soft music and candles} and investing in a few luxury body washes. All of the above are guaranteed to make you feel like a million bucks.

7. Paint Your Front Door:

My front door is black and bold, but I love other pops of color like red or yellow and even aqua blue. Not only will this raise the value or your house, but it will add an instant charm that is sure to make you smile every time you drive up to it. Not bad for an $8 can of paint, huh?
